Verse is a social reading tracker. It is Strava for readers: log your sessions, keep a streak alive, and race your friends up a weekly leaderboard. The goal is simple, to help you read more of the books you actually want to read.
Why Verse exists
Most people do not stop reading because they dislike it. They stop because reading competes with a phone engineered to be effortless, and reading, done alone and untracked, quietly loses that fight.
Every run has Strava. Every workout has a tracker. Those tools work because they make effort visible and a little bit social. Reading never had that. It stayed private, which made it easy to drift away from without noticing.
We built Verse to give reading the same feedback loop. When you can see your streak, your weekly verses, and where you stand among friends, showing up gets easier. A page a day becomes a habit, and the habit becomes a stack of finished books.

What is a verse?
A verse is Verse’s unit of reading: one verse equals 250 words. It exists because a page is not a fair measure. A large-print paperback page holds far fewer words than a dense hardcover, and an audiobook has no pages at all.
By normalizing to words, Verse makes every edition and format directly comparable. Your goal, your stats, and your place on the leaderboard are honest, no matter how you read.
